One of my
least favourite things in my kitchen at the moment are these white cupcake
cases that I picked up at the local supermarket.
They’re horrible.
First of all they’re tiny. I don’t know how they can call themselves ‘cupcake cases’ – they’re more like ‘thimbles’. Look how tiny they are in my cupcake tray! Tiny. I put just over 1 tablespoonful of batter in each liner and that practically filled them up.
They also seem to separate from the actual cupcake after baking. Not pretty. I'm pretty sure it’s not my cupcake as I've made them in other cases with no problems. So my conclusion is that these liners just seem to separate. Perhaps they’re too waxy? Who knows.
I know, the world’s not going to stop turning because I bought some dud cupcake cases, but I have 100 of them! What am I supposed to do with them?
Well, I
could just make lots of chocolate cupcakes (not a bad thing), but then I would
have to eat them all myself. Not
good for my ‘diet’.
Or I could just let my daughter make her ‘cupcakes’!
can we get a recipe for your daughters cupcakes? they look great! and sooo colourful! Yum!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I don't care if they are play-doh!
I don't know about yum! They're probably full of dust, cat hair and other unknowns!
DeleteI hate when that happens. Use them to put nuts in when guests come over or to sort sprinkles in for cookie decorating.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Vicki!
DeleteUrg, perhaps you can use it for chocolate cluster? ;)
ReplyDeleteAnother diet spoiler :-)
DeleteThanks for your comments. We aren't fans of parsnips either but with the maple syrup on them, they didn't know the difference.
ReplyDeleteAlso as for the cheesecake if you're not a fan of too many steps then use the canned apple pie filling and vanilla pudding mix not instant. It comes together in 10 minutes plus cook time. It's to die for.
Thanks for the short cuts Vicki!
DeleteI am hesitant to buy 'homebrand'cupcakes cases as I am afraid that this might happen.. and you have confirm my suspicions...
ReplyDeleteYour daughters could play 'masak-masak' with the remainder :P
They're slowly getting used up by masak-masak!
DeleteWas happen to me when I bought some in a special offer:(.
ReplyDeleteI bought mine on special too!
Deleteoh no a 100 of them??? sorry about that :[ hmmm i'm thinking maybe you could use it for an art project for your daughter :}
ReplyDeleteYep 100. She's been using them to play with so far. But I still have lots.
DeleteI bought those before. They are still sitting in my cabinet. I guess it is time to throw them away.
ReplyDeleteRecycle?
DeleteI hate when that happens! Maybe you can use them as cups for homemade truffles instead?
ReplyDeletewhat a pity with the wrappers!!!! I think it is a good idea to let the kids play with it ;)
ReplyDeleteI just hate when this happens..
ReplyDeleteTasty Appetite
Wow! 100 cupcake liners? It's quite a challenge to clear them. :)
